Link Up Women’s Support Centre is committed to working in partnership with other community groups and projects so that the best use is made of the resources already available in North East Edinburgh and the wider city.
Our location in St Margaret’s House, a thriving arts community, has opened up many opportunities for partnership work and for our members to develop their creativity.
We have forged strong links with a variety of organisations who use the crèche at LUWSC to run activities that complement our work – these include Care for Carers, Feniks and Edinburgh Women’s Aid. We also provide space to other organisations, such as ELCA, who provide help here one day a week for women experiencing issues relating to their alcohol use..
The Edinburgh Food Co-operative and ACTive INquiry are just two of the projects that have delivered workshops and activities here at LUWSC. Any group or project that would like to discuss the possibility of delivering a service or workshop here at LUWSC should contact Sharon. We can provide crèche facilities and if need be a crèche team as well.
LUWSC is working hard to provide a welcoming environment and with some of the facilities on offer, a large main room, smaller meeting room and crèche, LUWSC has proved a popular venue for projects looking for flexibility and value for money.
LUWSC can provide caretaker cover for events that would prefer to take place in the evening.

LUWSC has a Management Committee which has a strong membership from the women members themselves. All office bearers are current members who use the service on a weekly basis.
In this respect LUWSC really is a centre run by women or women. LUWSC is always looking for new members outwith of the women who currently use the service, whether that be from a health, community, fundraising or financial background.
Anyone who is committed to supporting our members and interested in joining our Management Committee should give Sharon a ring.
LUWSC values the support it receives from our many volunteers whether that be from the members themselves, past and present, family members who want to give something back or people who have donated their time and skills in supporting our Centre.
A big thank-you to Piedad Ortega who offers massage on a voluntary basis, free of charge to our members. Anyone who might be interested in volunteering with our Centre please give Sharon a ring.
